Makeup trial

This week has been really busy for me! Last night was my first makeup trial. I went up to my local Sephora store sans makeup to get some ideas. I did like some of the products they used, and I learned some new things, but I think I still need to work on how to make up my eyes. As I said before, I bought some false eyelashes to play around with. I'd love to wear them - if I can get them on correctly and they don't bother me too much!! But I think last night there was TOO much eyeliner... but the overall experience was fun nonetheless!

Here's a picture of me - with makeup - before (right after work... and please excuse the limp hair, it was raining here!)

Don't you just love the pictures you take of yourself???

And here is a picture of me on my way to the appointment - no makeup. Yep, no makeup... and I'm posting it for all to see... (wow, I look tired and I swear my nose isn't that big!)

And here is the "finished" me! I am liking the lipstick, even though it's a little bold. The color is good though. But I think the eyes are a little heavy...

I think this weekend while Chris is out camping for his bachelor party, I will try the false eyelashes. Has anyone else worn them?? Any tips?

I'll definitely post the pics from my shower tomorrow night. It was so much fun, I always thought a "lingerie" shower would somehow be a little weird, but it wasn't. Well, I didn't get any "naughty" stuff... so maybe that's why. My mom was there, so no "naughtiness" was allowed!

I think the eyes look a little bit heavy, I like the first look (the post work one) better. I used the MAC false eyelashes that come as separate pieces that grow in size and it looked SO natural for the wedding. It's a little intimidating at first, but it isn't hard to do! Just buy extra good glue. And use a makeup brush to brush the glue on your lash line.

I think i agree with Jenna on this one... Your post work look definitely lets your features shine through more than the make up. I have tried fake lashes... even the semi-permanent ones... my lids are too oily for them and they dont stay one well for me. my latest discovery is revitalash. Avid user since July 4th and my lashes are exponentially longer... no more fake lashes for me :) Now if i could only get them to curl ...

I'm with the girls above. Your post-work make-up looks seriously great!

I like it!! I suck at all things makeup so I can't really give any advice on that. I can't even really put eye liner on right, it's funny bc lately a friend has done it for me a few times and it's so hard to get used to, at first I was like, I look like a racoon! Lol!

I can't believe it's less than a month away!

Your first photo looks amazing!!!! Did you do that makeup yourself, because it's great... can you come do mine?!? :)

I have done eyelashes before though, and it always looks best with the individuals (there are actually like 3 together, so I don't know why they're called individuals) anyway, and Sonya Kashuk at Target has a set with black glue, which is perfect. Then you just finish with a little liner. Oh, and apply more on the outside corners of your eye than the inside. I have a friend who does this and that's why I know. :)

I'm really NOT a know it all.

Anyway, your pics look gorgeous!

I agree. The eye makeup's a little heavy, but I love the lip color. I look forward to seeing more trials :)

Well, you've done a very nice job. I have a job that requires alot of makeup... at the auto show... so when I'm not doing that one, I don't wear very much. Although, I do LOVE Sephora and LOVE to play with it. :)
