A new look

Saturday, I'm cutting my hair off.
It has just gotten so long (below my bra strap), and I'm dying for a change! I've had it long like this for probably 3 to 4 years now. Plus, I've found that I'm actually missing a chunk in back (OMG)!!! Seriously, there is a good size piece that is shorter than the rest. Not sure why, but it's there. It blends in, but now that I know it's there, it really bothers me!! Ugh.

So, do I still leave some length, like the girl in the picture below?? I really like her hair, and while it's much shorter than what I have now, it's still longish.

Or, do I go a little more dramatic with it and cut it above my shoulders?? I love Gwyneth's new haircut, it's just so stylish.

I'm not really sure yet... more than likely I'll go with the longer cut, just to get used to it, and then cut it shorter from there if I want.
But, it's only hair. It will grow back if I don't like it...

Anyone else recently chop their hair? I know Jenny did, and she's loving it!

Hmm ... what's your hair naturally? If it's fairly straight, maybe a bit of volume, go for the first look. If it's naturally wavy, go for the Gwyneth. Play to your (hair) strengths: if you get a straight style and your hair is wavy/curly, you'll spend way too much time styling. And vice-versa.

Both cuts are lovely. And you're right - it'll grow back.

I've been wanting to take a good whack out of mine too. I had started wearing it at about shoulder length in college and then I had a bad experience where shoulder length suddenly became oh about chin length.

I have a small fear of that happening again but I really want some of it gone. It's starting to get caught in things. Evil long hair.

I love the first and the third pic. I think you will look great with whatever you chose. It always feels so nice to have a new hair cut. I promised myself one after I lost 10 pounds and as of today I am down 10 pounds. So, hair cut here I come.
Have fun. Can't wait to see the what you chose.

Right above the shoulder is cute... and just in time to still keep you fresh and light for spring and summer :-)

I love Gwen's hair but it wouldn't hurt to start longer and go from there! I can't wait to see pics!

Be sure to post pics! It sounds like you need to ease into it, so go a little longer and then you can always take it even shorter in a few weeks if you still feel like it.

I like the first one. I hate cutting my hair short, so I wouldn't be drawn to Gwenie's hair cut. Although my hair grows fast so it's short today, long in a few weeks.
I can't wait to see what do!

I cut 11" off two years ago and never looked back. I always had long hair, sounds like about the same length as yours, and was so nervous to cut it but really needed/wanted a change. And you're right. It's hair it grows...I vote go for the shorter length!

I would definitely take it in steps-- you can always cut more, but you can't get it back!!
I just trimmed mine and put layers in it last weekend. I loooove it so much more now!!

He he he, if you really want to make the sauce it's easy. Just take half of the mayonaise of the amount you want to half the sour cream (it's like a really thick half and half).

Then add all the spices to your hearts desire (I like relying on taste more cause then I get to eat more of it).

I do love Gwyn's hair---especially with those lovely curls. i say go for the gwyn and grow it out if you don't like it!

oh, and I totally agree with you on how stupid 99% of us would look in onesies--your comment even inspired me to update the post! pop on over for a laugh ;)

I liked the longer style better.
I've been planning on chopping mine after the wedding, dont want to do anything drastic now, dont want no surprises. You will look great in whichever you pick!

My hair was a little bit longer than yours & I chopped it all off not too long ago- there are pics on my blog. I'd say go for it! I'm thinking of maybe cutting mine even shorter next time.

My hair was a similar length to yours before I did the post wedding chop- but I have learned in the past that I will miss ponytails and such so opted for keeping about 2" past my shoulders but with more layers and bangs... anyways! I think I am late on this and you must have already gotten your hair cut? Hope you are enjoying it!
