Ikea's in on the Gray Craze

Like the Ektorp sofa from Ikea? Well, now you can get slipcovers in a gray, brown, or beige cotton/linen/rayon viscose/poly blend. Very pretty.

Very pretty.... for $249. I realize that this is a good price for a typical sofa slipcover, but this is Ikea, and I would have thought the new covers would be cheaper. The whole sofa (including a white slipcover) only costs $399.

I saw these originally over at Cote de Texas. I'm glad Ikea's offering some really good-looking options, but I think it's priced a little high. What do you think?

For some strange reason, I trust IKEA not to rip me off. I can't explain it. So I guess the slipcover must be the most labor intensive part of the sofa?

It seems a bit high to me, especially for just a basic slipcover and in relation to the cost of the couch itself. But the gray is beautiful.

The gray is beautiful but $249 seems a little high for a slipcover.

You are right...its pretty, but relative to the couch cost, it seems very expensive!

Oh I like the gray color- for the Ikea price I would get a cream AND a gray cover :)

you're right...a little pricey, but i have been a loyal ektorp lover for so many years, i think i owe her an upgrade from the faded white cotton. love the new choices!
