Opinions please...

Which type of these rugs do you prefer??

Do you like more traditional Oriental rugs?

More modern?

Natural colors?

Zebra stripes?

Ethnic patterns?

Sisals or seagrass?

Flatweaves? Geometrics??

Depending on the style of your room, these are all great choices. But what is your favorite? I'm really interested for work. As I'm sure everyone knows, the economy is not the best right now, and we're trying to come up with some different and popular designs to show on samples to help sales.

So, if you were in the market for a new rug, what would you want to see?? If you don't see something here - feel free to suggest it! I'm totally open to all of your opinions. And remember, anything is possible!

I am a fan of geometric type rugs..but I would love to have a cabin with a fireplace an a BEAR SKIN rug (fake...of course). How sexy would that be? ;)

I grew up with Oriental rugs so I have a soft spot for them.

I would love to one day own an oriental rug, I do though love natural fibers and sisal. I own a flatweave, and honestly, I don't love it like I thought I would :)

Traditional and natural. Never, not ever, animal skins. Done to death (literally), poor taste and bad karma.

I'm so behind in my reading, I'm so so sorry!!

This is a tough choice as I love all of them! I think animal prints seem to be in as they are really popular on all the blogs. I love a classic Oriental rug, but a nice change would be updated colors, maybe more modern colors in the classic pattern. The last one you have pictured is a favorite of mine, I love the design. The ZigZags are super popular but not sure of their staying power. Natural fibers are great if they are eco friendly ones, and they are also naturally low VOC which tends to be a hot button with people these days. So, I am probably no help because I cant pick just one- but I hope there was some good advice in there somewhere :)

sisals or naturals are nice.. but well depending on the decoration.. all of them are so nice depending on what you match them with.. xoxoxo

All of this helps!! Thank you!

We're going to be sampling some new products that can be custom made, some that are very natural looking, some that are colorful. I'd love to choose patterns and colors that will be popular.

Hi Rachel, I'm personally drawn to geometrics in my own home design. I just love the impact a rug with a bold pattern makes in a room. I also still love the texture of a shag in a casual setting.

It is really hard to say....I love natural rugs first, then maybe a good oriental (but only in light neutrals)....and if the room is right, a zebra pattern. thanks, Julie

this is almost impossible to answer as i like them all. but for different types of decor each one of them would work beautifully.
i think sisal/seagrass/jute is always a winner. and i agree that an ethnic/tribal rug can work in any type of decor...modern, traditional etc..and i love a big, bold, graphic rug in an otherwise spare space...adds so much drama! this is tough..
i think for our purposes here today i am going to say ethnic/tribal. i would love to see the price point come down on an oushak style rug..you know the white shaggy ones with the black markings...i still love those rugs and find them so expensive.

I always love a seagrass. And the ethnic prints and flatweaves are great. I have never liked animal prints, but I know I am in the minority there.

Rugs are a tough one - I lived with a geometric modern rug for awhile and found that it was just too much of a presence in my room -it kind of took over. For main living areas I am a fan of the classic oriental or sisal/flatweave in a neutral color beacuse it allows you to play with pattern elsewhere (which you know I love!). But I think dining rooms are a great place to use rugs with a bit more personality (ethnic prints, geometrics, etc.) since you have more hard surfaces in that room (wood, metals, etc) than you normally find in a living room.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog! It depends on the room, but love muted colors, pretty, old orientals, flat-weaves, and seagrass the best (sisal is scratchier). Affordable options in any of these would be awesome! Hope that helps.

what about one with a nice soft texture that you can squiggle your toes into?

I think the geometrics all the way! The Orientals and Sisals are timeless classics, we know what they are all about. The geometrics seems the freshest to me, always stop me in my tracks when I see them in shelter mags. Good Luck!

I love zebra, ethnic and geometric.

Orientals are not really my style, but it depends on the colours. I once went to a rug factory in Turkey and it is unbelivable the skill that goes into these rugs. The colours of some can even be changed by shaking them.

That is hard because I LOVE them all. I would say I do a lot with natural and geometric, but I do love traditional as well. Am I any help? It is so hard for me to narrow it down!

Sorry I'm late to the party. I've been a little out of commission as my boys are on summer vacation.

Right now I am all about those gorgeous, plush Moroccan Beni Ourain rugs which are totally out of my price range. But then again a beautiful faded oriental is always on my wish list as is a graphic cotton dhurrie a la Madeline Weinrib. And a final vote for a graphic ethnic rug which I think works well in any interior, traditional and modern.
