Email is coming ...As for the pool post. Really? You didn't have pool fences? For many years, I only knew one person with a pool, my aunt and uncle. My aunt was super-safety woman: there was no requirement, but they had a 5' fence with a locked gate and a door with a lock at eye level (just like you described) for safety. My mom also required us to take swimming lessons as soon as we could, because my grandparents have a cottage on a lake. Until we were good swimmers, we couldn't go in the lake.I didn't have knee pads and all the other stuff. But when it came to water safety, my family was careful.
What a great giveaway! Looking forward to more of your lovely blog :)
Oh that is pretty, congrats Krista!
Wow, Rachel, you have such sweet followers!I doubt your parents had it in for you. We didn't wear bike helmets until we were teenagers. It just wasn't something anyone thought about until there was a local campaign. (Yeah, wearing a helmet goes over really well when you're a teenager.)I suspect our parents were doing the best they could based on societal awareness of safety. It's a progession. We always wore seatbelts. But when my parents were kids (and probably yours, too), seatbelts weren't even in every vehicle!
