Laissez les bon temps roulez

Tomorrow, I'll be here.

Chris and I are going to visit some friends who moved down here earlier this year, and we are both so excited!! Not only to get away for a long weekend, but to go to New Orleans (which just so happens to be one of my FAVORITE cities!)!!

Maybe the courtyard by our friends' house will look as beautiful as this one.

Tomorrow afternoon I might be walking under this very building! I love the architecture in the French Quarter - it's so different from any other city in America.

I'd also like to visit the Garden district this trip and go ga-ga over the houses there.

Maybe ride the streetcar around a little.

I'm sure we'll also hit this place and do a little gambling. Unfortunately, I am totally unlucky when it comes to stuff like this.

Maybe I should go visit the Voodoo shop and get some lucky potions or charms before I hit the casino?
Ah, Pirate's Alley. Can you even imagine living here? How cool.

Chris has said that he really wants to go back and eat at the Acme Oyster House, which he ate at last time he was in town.

Po-boys and other good "New Orleans Specialties"!

Maybe we'll (I'll) get lucky and Brad Pitt will be in town! (Hi Brad!)

I could offer to take him to Pat O'Brien's...

... and buy him a Hurricane. (But I definitely won't keep the souvenir glass this time. I already have 4 at home!)

Maybe Brad will even join us the next morning as we head out for some coffee (for Chris) and beignets (for both of us) at Cafe Du Monde.

What are beignets?? Yummy fried donut-like things with lots and lots of powdered sugar on top. They *sort of* taste like funnel cakes. But more delicious.

I am looking forward to a wonderful weekend!!

And I hope you all have a great one as well!

Let the good times roll, y'all!

Can I just say ... after seeing your images, I understand New Orleans's charm.

When are you going to start posting again?

Oh, and I'm totally going to bounce decorating ideas off you, Rachel ... if you don't mind, of course. :) I am goin to spend the next year decorating, I think!
